Project: Training First Responders to Support People with Developmental Disabilities During Emergency Situations
Purpose of Project: This project seeks to develop and provide an on-line, continuing education course for fire fighters, law enforcement, and emergency medical personnel on methods for carrying out safe, responsible and effective support for people with developmental disabilities in a variety of emergency situations. The WVU Project will work in cooperation and collaboration with people who have developmental disabilities, families, emergency planners and responders to develop the training program.
